Happy Hounds Wales Ltd recalled certain frozen raw dog food products because of the presence of salmonella in the products. Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause illness in humans and animals; the products could carry a risk through direct handling and via surfaces, and transmission to humans in the home.
Affected products: Frozen Beef Mince 993 (1kg, best before 31 May 2022), Frozen Lamb & Beef 992/993 (1kg, best before 31 May 2022), Frozen Turkey and Beef 991/993 (1kg, best before 1 June 2022) and Frozen Diced Heart (1.5kg, best before 1 June 2022).
Owners were advised not to feed the affected products, to follow hygiene guidance when handling raw pet food, and to contact the business for a refund.
