Dogs Choice UK recalls frozen raw dog foods because of the presence of Salmonella

Dogs Choice UK recalled a number of frozen raw dog foods because salmonella had been found in the products. Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause illness in humans and animals; the products could carry a risk through direct handling and via surfaces, and transmission to humans in the home.

Affected products: Frozen Chicken and Beef (500g), Frozen Chicken and Beef Ready Meal (500g) and Frozen Chicken Liver (500g), all with a best-before date of 8 August 2022.

Owners were advised not to feed the affected products, to follow hygiene guidance when handling raw pet food, and to contact the business for a refund.
